OUR STORY
Smoked to Perfection, Inspired by Jazz
In 1939, our family’s journey began with the birth of the first of 15 children to H.K. Williams, Sr., and Etta W. Williams in Fort Bend County. The Williams brothers quickly earned a reputation for mastering the art of BBQ, producing some of the finest flavors in the region. As they perfected the pits, my momma and her sisters were busy in the kitchen, creating flavorful sides and baking pies and cakes that became legendary in Sugar Land, Texas.
Growing up surrounded by this culinary magic, I absorbed every bit of knowledge I could. In 1993, I began my career in the restaurant industry, traveling far and wide to refine my craft. In 2003, fate introduced me to Forrest Greenwood, known to all as “PopaJoe.” His family, much like mine, was deeply rooted in cooking and community. Together, we blended our shared traditions and love for soulful flavors to create Williams Smokehouse BBQ and Blues.
