Our story
In 1939 my grandparents, H.K. Williams, Sr. And Etta W. Williams gave birth of what would be the first of 15 children. The Williams brothers would go on to produce some of the best BBQ in Fort Bend County, and I was lucky enough to witness and learn from them as I grew up.
While the brothers were hunting, fishing and mastering the BBQ pits, my momma and her amazing sisters were making the most flavorful sides dishes, as well as baking the most incredible cakes and pies in Sugar Land, Texas. I learned and soaked up as much as I could before I started my career in the restaurant industry in 1993 with Outback Steakhouse. My journey would take me to some amazing places to continue to learn every aspect of managing and operating the business. In 2003, while managing a sports bar in Stafford I met a guy by the name of Forrest Greenwood, who everyone called “PopaJoe”. He was from a little known community in Richmond, Texas called Freemontown. His family being similar in a lot of ways to mine, was blessed with a grandmother who started working for Agatha Booth in May of 1970. She did just about everything in the kitchen. His mom, whom we call “Sugar Mama” also operated her own BBQ food trailer for many years serving up the Richmond/Rosenberg community. After years of work and dedication, the Williams Smokehouse BBQ and Blues concept was created and now we are here to serve the Sugarland and surrounding Communities the best product we can produce. Welcome to Williams Smokehouse where life is “FAMILY” , “FOOD” is King and “Music” lives forever.
